This photograph shows the steeply inclined and graceful arch of York's Millennium bridge. The bridge is about 1km downstream from York's city centre, and has a total length of about 150m. The millennium bridge is a pedestrian and cycle bridge only. Its inclined arch was designed to mirror the spokes of a bicycle wheel, reflecting the importance of the bicycle as a mode of transport within the City of York.
