In the Pink, North Yorkshire Moors

Open heather moorland is the main feature of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. In August large parts of the Moors are a carpet of flowering heather. This photograph, taken at Sloethorn Park, contrasts the heather with a solitary Scots Pine, with the open moors behind.
