This attractive semicircular weir was designed by ThomasTelford to divert water from the River dee to supply the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal. The Horseshoe Falls is the start of a 9 mile long World Heritage Site which runs alomg the canal through Llangollen and on to Chirk aqueduct.
