Cotter Force is located about two and a half miles west of Hawes in Wensleydale. A pleasant path runs along the tree lined Cotterdale Beck to this attractive waterfall, which was sketched by Turner in 1816. Lush greens in this Summer view provide a perfect frame for the falls and beck, with the long exposure emphasising the shapes of the water’s flow.
