The quality of the light can have a huge impact on how the Yorkshire Dales look. This photograph was taken near Askrigg in Wensleydale on a day of sunshine and heavy showers. The sun broke through the clouds as the last of the rain fell in the upper part of the valley, with its rays creating a dramatic view for a short time.
