Langthwaite is the largest settlement in Argengarthdale. The Arkle Beck, which flows down the valley joins the River Swale at Reeth. Langthwaite comprises a huddle of cottages nest to the beck with the village church, other cottages, farms and field barns scattered across the valley. Holes in the broken cloud pick out the colours of the hay meadows and trees in this attractive view.
